Blackcurrant Saison was brewed again this year because we enjoyed it so much last time. We wanted the fruit to shine through without being too dominant. We crafted this beer at 4.3% ABV as not to mask the delicate flavours of the fruit or yeast. The South Island black currants give the beer an inspiring vibrant pink colour to invoke memories of our recently departed Lyttelton summer. The berries have given a gentle touch of sweetness up front, before succumbing to that traditionally dry Saison finish that makes this beer a perfect afternoon sipper or a fine companion to some grazing treats.
